PAN president participates in telehealth panel

Ted Thompson, president and CEO of Parkinson's Action Network (PAN), took part in a recent telehealth panel addressing the opportunities and challenges related to better telehealth policies in 2016.

Telehealth, sometimes referred to as telemedicine, is the remote administration of health care services or clinical information via telecommunications technology such as Internet, cellular, wireless, satellite and telephone.

Thompson spoke about the part PAN has played in increasing access and policies for telehealth in the future, including backing the recent reintroduction of the Veterans E-Health and Telemedicine Support (VETS) Act.

The panel was sponsored by  the ERISA Industry Committee, a national trade organization focused on employee benefit and compensation matters.
